Drug & Alcohol Rehab for Women
Both men and women can develop addictions, but women are less likely than men to develop alcoholism or drug addiction. However, women tend to find it much more difficult to quit than men do. Their addictions also tend to escalate more quickly, and women are more susceptible to relapse.¹
Unfortunately, medicine has traditionally focused on men, particularly since men tended to be the primary subjects of medical research.² In the case of substance abuse rehab, this means that standard treatment programs don’t always meet the unique needs of addicted women. Today, rehab facilities for women like Yellowstone Recovery are working hard to change that.
What You Can Expect from Us
At Yellowstone’s Orange County women’s addiction treatment center, you can expect tailored treatment plans, compassionate staff, secure premises, clinically backed therapeutic techniques, and more. Read on to learn about our treatment options and how we focus our plans on each individual client.
Rehab for Women: Our Treatment Options
We offer three types of rehabilitation programs for women: residential, outpatient, and intensive outpatient (IOP). These programs are available to individuals of any gender, but things like housing and group activities are always gender-specific (not co-ed) for the safety and comfort of our clients.
In residential treatment, women live together in one of our on-site homes, cook family-style meals together, and participate in group therapy together. This is the most intensive type of treatment, usually chosen by women whose addictions are still ongoing. Most women who enter a residential program will go through a medically supervised detox process before entering the main phase of their treatment.
Our outpatient program is typically used as extended care for women who do not require detox and who have recently completed a residential program. For those who have not recently completed residential treatment but do not need detox, we offer an intensive outpatient program. Both outpatient programs offer greater flexibility than residential treatment and allow women to live off-site and manage their own schedules.
We Focus on You as an Individual
No addiction recovery plan is one-size-fits-all. We know that certain elements of your life—your career, your health, your social responsibilities, your history—will have an impact on your behaviors and success in rehab. We work with each individual client to understand her specific situation, design realistic treatment goals, and address any co-occurring physical and mental health concerns. We also know that judging you for your situation or having you work a program that isn’t a good fit is both ineffective and potentially harmful. Here at Yellowstone, your treatment will always be compassionate and tailored to address key areas of growth.
